Through meaningful collaboration with clients, families, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare professionals, we create personalized treatment plans that foster growth, independence, and lasting success. We believe effective communication is fundamental to connection, learning, and quality of life, and we strive to advocate for and empower voices of all kinds through compassionate, ethical, and innovative care.
Our Philosophy
Communication is the foundation of human connection. Every voice matters, including yours. Whether expressed through spoken words, gestures, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), or any other means, every individual deserves the opportunity to communicate.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that communication should be functional, purposeful, and centered on what matters most to each person. Our community based focus is geared towards building the skills that support participation in everyday life—whether that means making a new friend at the park, ordering a coffee at your favorite café, advocating for yourself at school or work, or reconnecting with your grandchildren in the comfort of your living room.
We recognize that every person's and family’s goals, values, and definition of success are different. Our job isn't to tell you what to do with your voice—it is to help you communicate successfully in the ways and places that make life meaningful for you. We empower people to communicate with confidence, authenticity, and purpose.

Owner & Speech Language Pathologist
Kacee Higgins SLPD, CCC-SLP
My name is Kacee Higgins and I am the face behind K. Higgins Speech and Language. I have been a practicing speech language pathologist for 9 years and am extremely passionate about my career.
I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from The University of Nebraska, Kearney in 2014 and with my Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from Rockhurst University in 2017. I went on to obtain my clinical Doctorate degree in Speech Language Pathology from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2022.
My experience includes a variety of settings including inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, LTACH, NICU, developmental clinic, skilled nursing facility, and outpatient pediatric clinics. Those settings have allowed me to work with individuals across the lifespan, from birth to geriatric patients who have a wide variety of medical conditions and special needs, including those with Autism, Down syndrome, rare genetic disorders, or those who have experienced a stroke or traumatic brain injury.
